Lustrous dark-brown Anatase crystals scattered across a matrix of Gneiss exemplify this hand-sized specimen. This piece originated in the classic locality of the Binn Valley, Simplon Pass, in Canton Valais, Switzerland. Originally part of Clarence S. Bement's collection from the late 19th century, this Anatase was purchased by J.P. Morgan in 1901 and subsequently given to the American Museum of Natural History. The original label from the prominent alpine collector Rolf Wein is also included.
