This “connoisseur quality” cluster of lustrous Fluorite crystals is among the top 1% of the pieces discovered in the new Cousin Jack Pocket at the legendary Rogerley mine in the spring of 2022.
In terms of color, transparency, and overall aesthetics, this discovery has yielded the highest quality pieces ever found at this century-old English mining locality.
Comprised of well-formed, interlocking, penetration twin crystals, the uniquely modified crystal faces give each piece its own character. These crystals are so clean and clear that they could literally be cut into flawless gemstones (though we don’t recommend it)!
Under standard indoor lighting, the Fluorite crystals are a dark green. When viewed outdoors, they transform into a deep blue-violet, exhibiting an impressive daylight fluorescence. With UV light applied, these specimens fluoresce an extremely vivid ultramarine.
