A small, historic piece of naturally-occurring Gold wires on Quartz. This specimen is from Vorospatak (Verespatak; Goldbach; Roșia Montană), Alba County, Transylvania, Romania. There is a handwritten label attached to the back which reads "Gold, Voröspatak Siebenbürgen. 1889 cors. C. Rumpff." In 1867, Carl Rumpff acquired many of the minerals collected by the Archduke Stephan of Austria. When Rumpff died in 1889, his collection was acquired by the Humboldt Museum in Berlin.
